3D Vessel Measurement

Digital precision on site

The tradition of measuring with tape and templates has long been replaced by digital precision. We use the latest 3D digital measurement technology in space — every centimetre of the vessel is recorded as a point in a three-dimensional digital model. The result is a complete and precise digital map of the boat that eliminates errors, accelerates design and guarantees a perfect fit of the final product.

3D Design

From measurement to the perfect model

Based on 3D digital measurements, our designers create a complete virtual model in a professional CAD/CAM environment. Every element — from the supporting structure to the fabric and sewing details — is modelled and verified in the digital 3D space before any material is used. Virtual assemblies reveal all potential collisions and inaccuracies while they are still just pixels on a screen, and the final model travels directly to CNC machines without any loss of information.

CNC Cutting of Fabric and PVC Glass

Every cut digitally controlled

The 3D model travels directly to CNC cutting machines — no printing of templates, no manual transfer of dimensions, no room for human error. Every cutting path is calculated by algorithms that optimise pattern layout, minimise waste of premium fabric and PVC glass, and guarantee the geometry of every piece to 0.5 mm. Parts come off the CNC machine like components of a precision mechanism — exactly as much as needed, exactly as it should be.

  • Direct CAD → CNC pipeline without conversion
  • Cutting fabric and PVC glass with the same system
  • Tolerance of every cut ±0.5 mm
  • Less than 2% waste of premium materials

CNC Pipe Bending

Precisely shaped structures

By crafting the supporting structure from marine-grade AISI 316 stainless steel, we give the project its form. We use CNC pipe bending machines that execute every arc with millimetre precision — exactly according to the radii calculated from the digital 3D model of the vessel. Every curve follows the boat's lines, every joint is geometrically perfect. No manual hammering, no improvised curves — just clean, digitally controlled geometry that fits perfectly into the lines of every vessel.

  • CNC precision ±0.1 mm
  • Every arc follows the form and lines of the boat

On-Board Installation

Perfect fit — directly on the water

All previous steps culminate in the installation on your vessel. Our team comes directly to you — at the marina, dry dock or anchorage. Thanks to precise 3D manufacturing, every element sits exactly as designed. Fast installation, no cutting, no improvisation, no surprises.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about boat cover manufacturing

Is there a company in Croatia that digitally manufactures boat covers?
Yes — Nautica Tende from Rakov Potok (Zagreb County, Croatia) manufactures boat covers using a digital process: 3D digital measurement of vessels, CAD design in 3D software, and CNC cutting of fabric. Every project goes through a complete digital pipeline from measurement to finished product.
How do you manufacture boat covers?
We use a three-stage digital process: (1) 3D digital measurement — every centimeter of the vessel is recorded as a point in a three-dimensional model; (2) 3D CAD design — virtual cover model with materials, stitching and details; (3) CNC cutting of fabric and PVC windows — direct CAD→CNC pipeline without paper templates, with 0.5 mm precision. Stainless steel tube frames are bent on a CNC machine according to angles from the 3D model.
What types of boat covers do you make?
We manufacture bimini tops, sprayhoods, winter covers, cockpit covers, stern enclosures, tent covers, sunshades for boats, boat covers and sun decks. Everything is custom made for each boat individually — no off-the-shelf solutions.
Which boat brands and types do you work with?
We have worked with more than 50 boat brands — sailboats, motor yachts, catamarans and RIBs. Among them: Jeanneau, Bavaria, Azimut, Hanse, Beneteau, Elan, Sessa Marine, Fjord, Leopard, Sealine, Princess, Fairline, Dufour and many others. See the full list in the Boat Brands section.
What area do you cover, do you come for on-site measurement?
We travel on-site for measurement and installation in Croatia and Slovenia. For clients from other European countries (Italy, Austria, Germany), we arrange delivery of finished products. 3D digital measurement is performed at the boat's location.
What fabric materials do you use?
We use premium marine materials from renowned manufacturers: Sunbrella, Serge Ferrari (Soltis), Sattler, Batyline and Renolit Prime (PVC windows). All materials are UV resistant, waterproof and designed for marine conditions. Details in the Materials section.
How long does manufacturing take and how to order?
Manufacturing time depends on project complexity — typically 2 to 4 weeks from order confirmation and measurement. For inquiries and free estimates, contact us at +385 98 269 921 or via the contact page.
